Candice C. Ferguson

A Barrister of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, England, Ms. Ferguson was admitted to the Bahamas Bar in December, 2010. Ms. Ferguson obtained her Associate of Arts Degree in Law and Criminal Justice from the College of The Bahamas in 2006 and in 2009 she graduated with an Upper Second Class (2.1) from the University of Keele, Staffordshire, England with a LL.B (Honours) in Law with International Relations. Ms. Ferguson completed her Bar Vocational Course at Nottingham Law School, Nottingham, England. Ms. Ferguson currently works alongside with the Bahamas Financial Services Board’s 1998 Trustee Review Committee reviewing and reforming various Legislation.

Megan S. Knowles

Magan S. Knowles was admitted to The Bahamas Bar in December 2007. Miss Knowles obtained an Associates Degree in Law and Criminal Justice from the College of The Bahamas in 2003. Ms. Knowles continued her studies at the University of Kent at Canterbury obtaining a Bachelor’s in Law and Criminology in 2006 and was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 2007 as a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. Ms. Knowles joined the firm as an Associate in January, 2011.

Shannelle S. Smith

A Barrister of Gray's Inn, London, England, Ms. Shanelle Smith was admitted to The Bahamas Bar in December 2003.

Ms. Smith obtained her LL.B (Hons) and LL.M in International and Commercial Law from the University of Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.

She commenced her legal practice with the Law Firm of Graham, Thompson & Co. until 2010 and thereafter as Trust Relationship Manager for New Business with SG Hambros Bank and Trust (Bahamas) Ltd.

Ms. Smith joined Gibson, Rigby & Co. in 2011 as a Senior Associate heading up the Wealth Planning and Estate Administration Department. Her main area of specialty is Probate and Estate Administration.

During her practice, she has had significant experience in managing a wide range of Probate matters ranging from simple applications for Letters of Probate, Letters of Administration and Resealings to special applications, such as, Letters of Administration Pendente Lite, Letters of Administration de Bonis Non, Civil Law Jurisdiction Grants (Hong Kong, Switzerland, Philippines, etc.), to applications involving non-contentious probate business: Citations, Caveats (placement and removal) and Guardianship Orders for Minors and Patients.

Ms. Smith has also made a vital contribution to the redrafting of The Bahamas' Probate Legislation, which is due to come into force in June 2011.
